Oncology Nursing Education
Oncology Nursing Education
The Bay Area Tumor Institute is certified by the California Board of Registered Nursing as an approved provider of continuing education credits.
All nursing programs are planned, organized, and evaluated by a nursing committee composed of highly experienced registered nurses with extensive experience, advanced educational degrees, and wide variety of specialty expertise.
Expanded Training in Oncology for Nursing Students
The priority focus of the BATI Oncology Nursing Steering Committee is on the training of pre-licensure student nurses to provide deeply enhanced and actionable oncology nursing content. BATI works collaboratively with the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) to utilize its online course, Cancer Basics, as the core cancer educational content for nursing students at participating academic pilot sites.
The multi-year pilot Student Nurse Project is conducted at Samuel Merritt University (SMU) Oakland campus and the California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) Hayward and Concord campus sites.
